Designer and artist Hiroyuki-Mitsume Takahashi is internationally recognized for his illustrations full of life and color that resonate with many young people in Japan and the world! Traditional Japanese aesthetics and science fiction, sacred Buddhist iconography and profane symbols, street culture and academia, the soft, organic and kawaii meet and transform with the rigid, inorganic and digital, Eros and Thanatos, fetishism, war and peace, all this seems find its expression at various levels of his work.

Mitsume has performed and exhibited both in Japan and in other countries around the world, including Japanese pop culture and art festivals (J-Pop Summit in San Francisco in 2017). Somewhat synchronizing his growing international popularity as a designer and artist, his style of vibrant colors, decorated with daruma figures, manekineko, Japanese festivals, Noh masks, kanji, with the growing international interest in Japanese pop culture.

As you may know from his 2015 web comic “HYPERSONIC Music Club,” Mitsume is a fan of electronic music and DJ culture. His work is highly requested by electronic music labels (for example, the Exbit Trax label), as well as for making posters for Akiba-kei DJ events. His work often contains many elements of electronic music and icons of otaku culture.
