Since April 2011, Tanaka Tatsuya has been posting miniature life scenes daily. His work has a twist that makes it particularly unique in the world: with the use of everyday objects he creates very creative miniatures! Broccolis are transformed into majestic trees under which people enjoy a picnic or a horsehair brush becomes a harvest field.

The objects that Tanaka Tatsuya uses in his compositions must be things that people use on a daily basis so that they can be projected in his creations.

And how does Tanaka Tatsuya continue to find inspiration after creating miniature scenes for over a decade now? He himself says that ideas come to him when he is traveling or simply when he goes shopping. He often looks at objects and watches people in supermarkets and computer stores. Once he has brainstormed ideas he returns to his apartment where he has a small creative studio and starts working on his tiny scenes.

Lots and lots of objects of all kinds are stored in several drawers, along with 20,000 2 cm tall figurines that bring your scenes to life. There are also a number of small resin replicas, allowing you to incorporate food into your artwork without wasting it.

Tanaka Tatsuya never imagined that his hobby would end up taking up a lot of his time and become the content of books, a calendar, and even a TV miniseries . In 2015 he realized that he could earn a living from this activity and even earn more than he did in his role as artistic director. It was then that he decided to devote his time entirely to life in miniature. The artist is involved in every step of the creative process, from the set design to taking the photos and posting them on social media as his motivation is to continue creating seeing how many people enjoy his miniature scenes.

This constant self-reflection is just one of the ways the artist strives to retain the childlike sense of wonder he has had from the start. He loves to feel the joy in discovering how things can be seen as if they were something else, simply by changing the perception. Unfortunately, we tend to lose this playful point of view when we become adults and think only in terms of common sense and our perception of things becomes fixed and it is one of the things that he wants to achieve in people with his miniatures.

He has a project called “Miniature Calendar” and that consists of sharing a miniature scene a day on his social networks! You can visit his profile on Instagram and follow him to be amazed every day with his ingenious miniature scenes! here the link
