Spicy Tuna Donburi Recipe
The don, or spicy tuna bowl, is just one of many donburi-style dishes in Japanese cuisine. Donburi refers to dishes served in a bowl with rice topped with beef, chicken, egg, fish, shellfish, tempura, etc. They are a great example of Japanese cuisine.

- 4 cups Japanese White Rice Prepared
- 200 grams Tuna sashimi (high quality raw tuna)
- two tablespoons Japanese Mayonnaise (more vinegar than regular)
- 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce vietnam hot sauce
- ¼ tablespoon Sesame oil
- ⅛ tablespoon shichimi togarashi Species based on chili peppers from Central and South America
- 6 tablespoons Rayu chilli oil To taste
- grated chives To taste
- Sautéed sesame seeds To taste
- Soy sauce To taste
INSTRUCTIONS
- Serve the rice in two bowls in equal parts. The rice should be at room temperature.
- Cut the tuna to a point that is almost ground.
- Mix the tuna with the Japanese mayonnaise, the Sriracha sauce, the sesame oil, the shichimi togarashi, and the rayu chili oil, in a bowl.
- Serve the mixture in two generous portions over the rice dishes.
- Add the grated chives, sesame seeds, and a little soy sauce, over the tuna mixture. And enjoy!
