For the past 11 years, Shūichi Takizawa has been supporting his career by making people laugh by making the world a cleaner place; in other words, he has been working as a garbage collector. However, he has used his experience in the industry to give back to society, sharing helpful tips on garbage disposal and recycling on social media, writing books, and joining the chat circuit to share his ideas.

Based on Shūichi Takizawa ‘s personal experience picking up trash in lower-, middle-, and upper-class residential neighborhoods, he says that rich people litter less .

This might sound strange at first because after all wouldn’t the rich care less about throwing things away since they have the means to replace them?

Takizawa ‘s theory is that “rich people only buy what they like, so they have fewer things to throw away.” Ironically, the popularity of thrift stores and discount clothing stores has encouraged more wasteful behavior in the middle class.

And since some fashion trends change with each season of the year, most people who buy cheap but trendy clothes end up throwing them out when the next trend comes along.

Takizawa says that “people can change the reality about this but their crap doesn’t lie” but instead “honestly reflects people’s consumption” by showing how they choose to live their lives.
