MAJIRI ( @Cityscape_Std ) from Cityscape Studio makes diorama miniatures of urban environments. The quality of his work has recently been recognized since he started posting photos of his works on Twitter.

Even though you can understand that it is a miniature made by hand, it manages to confuse our perception and surprise us with how realistic each detail is.

At first, not being able to tell the difference from a real traffic light, it looked like someone was messing with perspective, positioning their hand so it looks like they were holding a real traffic light, but when you look closely you’ll notice that their other fingers meet behind the post. Then you start to doubt your first impression.

The words “Cityscape Studio” and the fact that the traffic lights are not on might give us enough clues that it is a miniature, but needless to say, it left many of us confused at first.

The tweet quickly went viral, with more than 135,000 likes and 15,000 retweets at the time of this report.

You’ll be able to see more of his thumbnails on his Twitter account and his YouTube channel, where there are scenes from Tokyo that probably look familiar to you. And if you would like to get started in the world of diorama miniatures, be sure to check out our catalog of miniatures!
