Life full of flowers in Japan and my life with flowers
It’s been 9 months since we arrived in Japan, many things we have noticed around us. One of them is that the Japanese love flowers and every corner there are different types of flowers of the season.
I wrote a comment for “ cosmos ” when we first arrived in Japan. I really like to admire the flowers where I walk and everywhere. I am fascinated by those herbs with the most insignificant little flowers that perhaps no one observes. Also the best known flowers that adorn the front of the houses and their gardens.
As the months have passed, I’ve noticed that people plant new flowers and I think, what was there before in that same place?! What did they do with the ones that were there before?
Where we live we have a small garden and some purple flowers came out, and if I’m not mistaken, they adorned our garden for about two months. I researched what it’s called, and I found out that it’s “ 紫蘭しらん Shiran ” Chinese orchid, I think that’s what it’s called in English (literally translated into Spanish).
According to my daughter, they come out every year to bloom. The season is over.
Goodbye Shiran flowers, see you until next year.
Now is the season of “ あじさい Ajisai ” Hortencia in Spanish. Recently I was reading the books on the history of Japan, version for elementary school students, I learned that hydrangeas took them from Japan to Europe, and from there, to all parts of the world. In Mexico they are very popular, many people also like to plant them in their gardens, and in the rainy season (June and July) I think they bloom very beautifully.
Around here, at each corner of the paths, there are hydrangea bushes and hydrangea pots of different colors. I think they last a long time and we can enjoy them in this rainy season.
