Ensō – Zen Circle

Ensō – Zen Circle, is a Japanese word that means “circle” and symbolizes absolute wisdom, spiritual transcendence, emptiness or nothingness. The way to draw an ensō would represent the way your life is at this moment.

The kanji writing on the image reads “Stay fully centered in here and nothing will be able to bring you down”, with the kanji for “heart” within the ensō.

The ensō, also known as a zen circle, is the symbol of teaching, reality, transcendence, and the endless details that exist between them. Seemingly perfect in its continuity, balance and sense of completeness, and at the same time, usually irregular in its execution. An ensō represents the simplest and most complex form at the same time.

An ensō invokes power, dynamism, charm, humor, drama, and stillness. I wonder how my ensō will turn out ^^
