A small square hole at the base of one of the temple’s large wooden pillars, the so-called “nostril” , grants a degree of enlightenment in the next life to any devout visitor who may pass through it. The “magic hole” takes its name from the belief that the small tunnel is as big as one of the nostrils of the giant statue of Buddha that stands under the same roof.

While no one has measured the actual size comparison between the Buddha’s nose and the hole in the column, nor can anyone verify the exact nature of the illumination bestowed by the architectural oddity, small-hipped visitors from around the world continue to try to get through. through this hole to seek the wisdom of the Buddha.

This hole is said to be the same size as the nostrils of the Buddha found in the same temple. If you manage to pass through it, you will receive good fortune and divine illumination.
