“ANIMATION × PARALYMPIC: Who is your hero?”

A series of animated short films produced by NHK, which they have called “ANIMATION × PARALYMPIC: Who is your hero?” , will promote the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo. Each episode features a different Paralympic sport.

The project aims to introduce new Paralympic sports heroes through engaging characters and stories that will be created in collaboration with famous comic book creators and animated film directors.

The first episode, “Football 5”, features the Japanese national team against the world champions Brazil. The character designs probably look familiar to you since the story was written by Yoichi Takahashi, the creator of the popular TV series. manga and animation “Super Champions”

NHK announced, “By presenting the appeal of the Paralympics in an accessible way, we hope that many people will be more interested in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. We hope to create additional works corresponding to the different sports to spread the appeal of the Paralympics and promote people’s interest in the Paralympic Games”,
