It’s not surprising to hear stories of service providers in Japan doing amazing things to provide the best possible service to their customers. Be it in small details of daily work or customer services that border on a treatment I say of a deity!

Japanese Twitter user ChoroHaha ( @Chorouzu1017 ) recently shared an example of this hospitality that has surprised many, with the friendly and grateful gesture of the ground maintenance staff at Amami Airport on Amami Oshima Island.

While the plane was waiting on the tarmac for its turn to take off, @Chorouzu1017 looked out the window and noticed that an employee had sprayed an artistic message of thanks to visitors to the island with water.

Along with the perfectly drawn flowers, he wrote “Arigasama Ryota”, an Amami Oshima regional way of saying “Arigatou Gozaimasu” or “Thank you very much”. The video received many positive comments from people who were moved by the gesture, probably more now because of the great weight that the tourism industry currently carries in places that depend a lot on it to get ahead.
