Amano Takashi – Aquariums, Photography, Moment and Art

Hello everyone! Today we want to share this incredible work of nature art, made by Amano Takashi (天野尚) a Japanese photographer and aquarist.

His interest in nature has taken him to visit rainforests in the Amazon, Borneo and East Africa and the pristine forests of Japan, and he has been working on photo series focusing on “wild nature”.

With his large format cameras, he has captured unique moments in nature with the goal of documenting all of Japan’s beautiful nature on large film formats for future generations to appreciate.

His aquarium compositions are characterized by the typical asymmetric (although balanced) arrangements of aquatic plants often complemented by stones and wood. His landscapes are miniature representations of natural and underwater landscapes. True works of art!

Amano Takashi is also the editorial supervisor of Aqua Journal magazine, which has acquired many fans and followers around the world. As his art and design techniques have progressed, the magazine features “how to” sections, photo galleries of aquarium landscapes, popular plants and fish, seasonal themes, and provides tips for creating your own aquascape.

Unfortunately, in 2015 he died of complications from pneumonia while being treated for cancer, but the legacy he leaves us are these “aquatic worlds” that he dedicated with such care in his life.
